Unstandardised Rats
What is an unstandardised rat?
An unstandardised rat exhibits a characteristic that is not described in the standards laid down by the National Fancy Rat Society (NFRS). It may be of a different colour, coat pattern or even physical conformation from those varieties of mice that are currently accepted and can be shown in normal classes at organised shows. New mutations may become standardised by the procedure laid down by the NFRS via the Provisional and Guide Standard path. It is not just about a "different variety" - that variety must have "fancier appeal"!

Where can unstandardised rats be shown?
These rats can only be entered in the unstandardised class, which are on the schedule for all LSCMRC  shows. They can be placed but cannot enter any challenges.
